Mint ( Meentha piperitais ) mostly grown for the leaf stalks and leaves that are used for essential oil. It grows to a height of about 28 inches and has red stems, long and serrated leaves and distinctive aroma. This herb contains menthol which is one of the best essential oils that is obtained by extraction from the stalks and leaves of the mint.

As a main active ingredient in mint, menthol stimulates the lining of the stomach and thereby shortens the retention time of food in the stomach.
