The plan for the diet with apples a day was designed by the American nutritionist Tammi Flynn.

She noted that her clients who eat an apple before their meal, lose weight without changing their eating habits. That was followed by an effort and experimentation for a similar method to be applied to other clients and the results have been more than good. By eating an apple before each meal they lost on average 2 pounds per week. All this encouraged Tammi and she insisted to extract from this fact as much as possible: creating the auxiliary diet plan that encourages even greater weight loss which is known as a diet with apples or diet of 3 apples.

Fundamentals of the Diet with apples:

This diet involves consumption of one apple before each main meal. The idea is that the fibers that the apple is rich with, can easily saturate a person and therefore he/she will eat less , and by the way it will reduce the desire for sweets.

People who are on this diet are encouraged to consume a lot of fruit and vegetables and also to reduce the total calorie intake, but to not feel hungry. Such a diet can help you to lose up to 8 pounds in a week on a healthy way.

Apples, cheese with low fat yogurt, eggs, chicken breast, turkey, fish, lean beef, oats, rice, broccoli, lettuce …

Sample menu:

Breakfast: Apples, omelet with low-fat cheese and cup of cooked oats.

Morning snack: A piece of low-fat cheese with a cup of low fat yogurt.

Lunch: Apple, baked chicken breasts (steak), 2 cups cooked broccoli, a cup of browned rice.

Dinner: Apples, Roasted fish, lettuce.

Recommendations for exercise:

Combination of light training with weights and cardio exercises 3-4 times a week, for at least 30 minutes, it’s recommended.

The benefits of this diet are as we  mentioned, apples create a feeling of satiety and reduce the chance of overeating. Then dietary fibers helps in lowering cholesterol, preventing heart disease and certain types of cancer. The meals are balanced with low fat protein, complex carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables and encourages physical activity.

Some of the reasons why for some people this diet isn’t recommended are that you can become bored to eat apple before each meal and because you need to eliminate foods that every average person consume. And this diet can be difficult for the vegetarians, if they want to follow the diet plan entirely.
