Bananas are fruit with  planetary popularity and everyday  people enjoy them.  But for many of us who follow some diet, the following fact is important:
Bananas are the third most popular fruit in the world, before them are just apples and oranges.
The banana is fruit which is grown in many tropic countries  and therefore different types of bananas exist.
For these reasons there are bananas in different sizes and naturally different sized fruits have a different number of calories.

In order to be as accurate as possible, we will divide them into five different groups:

Extra small bananas: Bananas up to 15 centimes in length are considered to be extra – small bananas and they have about 75 calories.

Small bananas: Bananas which are between 15 and 17.5 centimes in length are considered small bananas and they have 90 calories.


Medium-sized bananas: Bananas which are between 17 .5 and 20 centimes in length are considered a medium-sized bananasand they have 105 calories.

Big Bananas: Bananas which are between 20 and 22.5 centimes in length are considered big bananas and have 120 calories.

Extra large banana: Bananas which are more than 22.5 centimes in length have 135 calories and are considered extra – large bananas.

We hope that this division of the sizes of the bananas and the values ​​in calories will be  enough for you to be able to freely and accurately calculate your daily calorie intake if your diet includes bananas.

An interesting fact is that the pumpkin plant that is suited to our region has almost the same composition as bananas, same caloric and other nutritional values​​. If you want a replacement or alternative food for banana , you are free to replace it with a piece of boiled or roasted pumpkin.
