Every organism has own detoxification system. The colon, kidneys and liver are critical organs that are involved.

Kidneys eliminate toxins through urine and filer the blood all the time.

Colon includes bacteria that promote production of unhealthy and healthy chemicals. Removing the toxins before they harm the body is the main role of the colon.

Liver prevents and filters toxins in food to pass into our blood stream. It is the first defense organ of the body.

You have to support the body in the consumption of right food if you want your detox diet work. Today I am going to present you 48 Hour weekend detox by Dr. Oz that will help the three vital organs function properly. You only have to prepare and consume these snacks and meals 2 days in a row.

Prunes With Quinoa For Breakfast

Quinoa is extremely healthy whole grain rich in fiber, phosphorus and protein. A bowl of quinoa is the right choice to start the day. Prunes are full of sorbitol and fiber, so do not forget to add some of them.

Ingredients:

-         ¼ cup of rice milk

-         1/3 cup of chopped prunes

-         1 tbsp of flaxseed oil

-         1 tsp of grated ginger

-         1 pinch of nutmeg

-         1 cup of water

-         ½ cup of quinoa

Add a half cup of quinoa, 1 tsp of grated ginger, a pinch of nutmeg and pour a cup of water in a small pot. Mix all the ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the pot and then simmer for 10 min. the next thing you should do is to add the rice milk and the prunes. Cover again and cook for additional 5 min. Add and then stir 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil before consume it.

Detox Snacks and Drinks Between Meals

Ginger stimulates bile flow in the gallbladder, pineapple is rich in bromelain which is excellent for the process of digestion and kale is for cleanse of the kidneys.

Ingredients:  

-         Half a cup of mint

-         ¼ inch of ginger

-         Half squeezed lemon

-         A bunch of kale without stems

-         2 large cucumbers

-         Half a cup of pineapple

Place all the ingredients that I mentioned above in a juice and mix well.

Detox drink with pomegranate, lemon and pineapple

The preparation of this juice does not need juicer.

Ingredients:

-         3 cups of water

-         A cup of unsweetened pomegranate juice

-         A lemon

-         ¾ cup of unsweetened pineapple juice

Mix the ingredients in a bigger cup and you will get 4 servings that you have to consume during the whole day.

Veggie Snack

Slice cucumber, radishes and celery and mix them together. Pour lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. You can consume as much as you want of this powerful snack during the day.

Fruit Smoothie For Lunch

Ingredients:

-         Half a cup of ice

-         ¼ banana

-         ¼ cup of frozen blueberries

-         1 tbsp of chia or flaxseed

-         ½ cup of plain unsweetened almond milk

Place all the ingredients in a blender and mix until you get homogenous mass.

Flaxseed is rich in fiber and omega 3 which is brain nourishing. Bananas are full of Vitamin B6 which detoxifies the liver and blueberries have large amounts of quercetin which is good for the liver and improve the immune system.

Vegetable Broth Soup For Dinner

Ingredients:

-         ½ cup of chopped parsley

-         8 springs of chopped parsley with leaves and stems

-         2 tbsp of chopped fresh oregano

-         2 tbsp of paprika

-         2 quarts of water

-         1 chopped cabbage

-         4 large chopped garlic cloves

-         1 cup of sliced shitake caps

-         Freshly ground pepper

-         2 tsp of sea salt

-         2 tsp of caraway seeds

-         1 chopped fennel bulb with stalks and fronds

-         2 chopped celery stalks

-         2 chopped red onions

Place all the ingredients together except the chopped parsley in a bigger pot and then add 2 quarts of water. Let it boil and simmer for 1 hour.

The liver enzymes are improved by shitake mushrooms. Cabbage detoxifies the kidneys and the liver. Garlic improves the function of the gall bladder and fennel helps bile flow in the gallbladder. The soup can be also served with a side of sliced apples and sauerkraut.

Apples improve the function of the kidneys and the liver. Sauerkraut represents probiotic and defends your GI tract.

Do not forget to follow these rules:

  1. Do not consume food after 7 p.m.
  2. You will remove the toxins and by using Epsom salt bath. Magnesium will help you relax the muscles.
  3. Have cup of dandelion root tea before go to sleep. It will help you to remove the toxins from your body.

Additional Foods That Will Boost The Detox System

The kidneys

Diuretics products like soy allowing you to urinate more often.

Broccoli, bok choy and cauliflower help liver cells recover from detox and boost the power of the kidneys to send toxins into urine.

The colon

Whole grains are rich in phosphorus which represents a natural laxative. You can also protect your colon by consuming sour pickles because they are high in probiotics.

The liver

Hot peppers (capsaicin) are great ally in the detoxification of the liver.

Blackberries and blueberries will help in the elimination of certain toxins.
